Your Questions, Our Answers

01 Who is liable if someone slips on my walkway?
As a property owner or tenant, you are legally obligated to clear and grit your pathways. When you transfer winter service responsibilities to M2A, the duty of care passes to us contractually. We document every deployment thoroughly, providing you with complete proof of due diligence in the event of a claim.
02 What times are clearing and gritting carried out?
According to Bremen's street cleaning regulations, walkways must be cleared by 7:00 AM on weekdays and by 9:00 AM on Sundays and public holidays. During continuous snowfall or renewed ice formation, we repeat clearing until 8:00 PM. For commercial properties, we arrange individual clearing schedules.
03 What gritting materials do you use?
We primarily use anti-skid materials such as grit and granulate, as the use of road salt on walkways is generally prohibited in Bremen. De-icing agents are only used on roadways and in justified exceptional cases during extreme ice conditions, always in compliance with local regulations.
04 What happens if it snows overnight?
Our standby team monitors weather conditions permanently, including through the night. When snowfall or ice formation occurs, our crews deploy immediately to ensure your surfaces are safely passable by the morning clearing deadline. Multiple deployments during overnight continuous snowfall are a matter of course.
05 Can I book winter service on an as-needed basis only?
We recommend a seasonal contract with a standby fee, as this guarantees reliable service throughout the entire winter season. Individual call-outs are possible but subject to staff availability and are typically significantly more expensive than a seasonal agreement.
